About
The family behind Daeho traces its restaurant roots to Kangnam in Incheon (1957) and later Korean restaurants in San Francisco after immigrating in 1990. The first Daeho Kalbijjim & Beef Soup opened in Japantown in February 2019 and quickly became known for large shared pots of kalbijjim, often finished tableside with blowtorched cheese and rice cakes. Additional Bay Area locations followed in Milpitas, San Mateo, Concord, and an H Mart food-court counter. Eater SF and The Infatuation treat the Post Street original as a focused specialty stop rather than a full-spectrum Korean barbecue house.
Menu highlights

Diners say
Yelp and Google reviewers overwhelmingly praise tender short ribs, the cheese finish, and group-friendly portions. The same conversations return to long waitlists (often via Yelp), noise, sweet sauce that some find heavy, and prices that make sense only when splitting a pot among three or more. Many advise going with a group and naming the dish as the entire point of the visit.
