About
Hwa Shin Kim opened Ham Ji Park on Pico Boulevard in 1993 and later added the Sixth Street room; for three decades the house was known for sticky gochujang pork spare ribs snipped with scissors at the table and for gamjatang (spicy pork-bone stew). Jonathan Gold praised the ribs as crisp, caramelized, and not too sweet. Both original locations closed abruptly in late 2025. Sixth Avenue Hospitality (the Quarters Korean BBQ and Lasung group) bought the recipes and revived the brand in 2026 as Sandeomi Hamjipark, “sandeomi” meaning a mountain of food.
