About

Jitlada has held a Thai Town address since the late 1970s. In 2006, chefs Sarintip “Jazz” Singsanong and Suthiporn “Tui” Sungkamee took ownership and steered the menu toward Southern Thai cooking from Nakhon Si Thammarat alongside familiar Thai standards. Michelin has awarded the restaurant a Bib Gourmand, and Jazz has drawn James Beard Best Chef: California nominations. The strip-mall room is known for a gargantuan menu, turmeric-forward curries, and dishes that do not mute chile heat for first-timers.

Menu highlights

  • Southern Thai curries and dipped dishes
  • Crispy catfish and green papaya salad
  • Morning glory preparations
  • Seafood plates including garlic crab when available

Diners say

Public reviews praise the Southern Thai specialties, spice levels, and long-running family service. The same threads warn about navigating a huge menu, waiting without reservations at peak times, and heat that can surprise if you order boldly. Diners who return usually want regional Thai intensity more than a mild pad Thai night.
