About

Atomix opened in 2018 as the fine-dining follow-up to Atoboy from chef Junghyun “JP” Park and manager Ellia Park (NA;EUN Hospitality). A ground-floor bar and subterranean chef’s counter occupy a brownstone; the chef’s counter is a U-shaped, reservation-only tasting experience. Michelin awards two stars; the New York Times has given three stars; World’s 50 Best and North America’s 50 Best rankings and a 2023 James Beard Best Chef: New York State award for Park sit alongside a 2025 James Beard Outstanding Hospitality recognition for the restaurant. The menu rotates with Korean reference points and high-end technique; beverage pairings (including nonalcoholic) are part of the house identity. Hard, prepaid reservations are the norm.

Menu highlights

  • Seasonal multi-course tasting (chef’s counter)
  • Signature courses that rotate with the season
  • Upstairs bar tasting (separate, shorter format)
  • Wine and nonalcoholic pairings

Diners say

Public reviews and critic consensus focus on hospitality, pacing, and polished Korean fine dining. Recurring friction is cost (hundreds per person before drinks), extreme reservation scarcity, and limited ability to accommodate dietary restrictions under house policy. Diners who love it call the service among the city’s warmest at this price; a few note the brownstone location feels easy to miss.
