Song opened November 4, 2021, on East Broadway as the second restaurant from the Kin Kao team (Terrence Feng and chef Tang Phoonchai), whose Commercial Drive original launched in 2015. Song’s menu is intentionally different: spicier, snack-and-curry forward, paired with natural wine, craft beer, and Thai-accented cocktails in a Scott & Scott designed room. Michelin has awarded Bib Gourmand status from the inaugural Vancouver selection through 2025. Inspectors highlight lemongrass wings, pad Thai, and northern Thai laab among others.
