Helene An’s Crustacean Will Close Its Beverly Hills Room on Halloween

The Bedford Drive landmark returns August 5 for a farewell season of garlic noodles and roasted Dungeness crab after the building sale left the lease unrenewed.

August 1, 2026

Crustacean will serve its last meal at 468 North Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills on October 31, 2026. The House of An family restaurant has occupied that corner since 1997, and after the building sold, the lease was not renewed. A first goodbye was set for July 29. Then, as Elizabeth An put it to the Los Angeles Times, the family got a short miracle: an extension through Halloween.

The room paused after July 29 and is due back August 5 at limited capacity. Regular dine-in runs through September 30. October shifts toward special events and takeout, still under the same roof, while the family looks for the next Los Angeles address.

Garlic noodles, roasted crab, and a secret kitchen

The menu that made the room famous is still the one people book for: An’s Famous Garlic Noodles and roasted Dungeness crab. Helene “Mama” An built that pairing into a Beverly Hills ritual that other Southern California kitchens have chased for years. Brand lore still mentions a secret kitchen for the noodle recipe. Whatever the backstage setup, the plate on the table is butter, garlic, and a soft tangle of noodles that diners order beside crab, lobster, and the rest of the seafood board.

Crustacean’s San Francisco sibling opened in 1991. The An family’s California story starts earlier, with Thanh Long in the Outer Sunset after Helene and Danny An arrived from Vietnam in 1975. The Beverly Hills room was the flashier chapter: white tablecloths, a wine list, and Vietnamese seafood cooking aimed at a Westside crowd that was not yet used to treating that food as celebration dining.

Where the An kitchens go next

Elizabeth An, CEO of House of An, has said the family is hunting a new Los Angeles home, with Pasadena and Calabasas among the areas under discussion. Later in 2026, pop-ups are planned at sister restaurants Tiato and AnQi so the garlic noodles do not vanish from the region while a permanent room is sorted. Outside California, Eater LA has reported an Atlanta licensing deal plus Honolulu and Sun Valley, Idaho, targets for the end of the year. Treat those opens as soft until keys are in the door.

For diners who want one more night on Bedford, the useful calendar is simple: August 5 through September for a fuller dine-in farewell, October for the last events and takeout, and Halloween as the hard close. Reservations and exact October programming will keep moving as the weeks count down. Check Crustacean’s own channels before you plan the table.
