Miso Soup Starter Method
The framework for a daily miso soup — dashi base, miso selection, and add-in logic.
Miso soup is less a recipe than a system. Once you understand dashi, miso selection, and when to add ingredients, you can build a bowl from whatever is in your refrigerator without consulting a card.
Baseline method
- 1Warm 2 cups dashi in a pot. Do not boil aggressively.
- 2Add firm vegetables or mushrooms; simmer 2–3 minutes.
- 3Remove pot from heat. Dissolve 1–2 tbsp miso through a strainer or ladle.
- 4Add silken tofu and wakame. Serve immediately.
